OC Oil Wells - Analog Photo Series

I began thinking about photographing oil wells near where I live.

Using black & white 35 mm film and loading it into my Canon AV-1 camera, I went out and photographed some of the remaining oil industry structures (whether they were working or abandoned) in the North Orange County area of Southern California.

Artist Statement:

All that remains of the oil industry in North Orange County are old, rusted wells, which make strange, yet hypnotic industrial noises. I was inspired by the history of oil and the physical structures it left behind when photographing this series.
